The Schroud Procession

The Schroud Procession, also known as the Coffins Procesion, is held in Pobla Do Caramiñal, in Coruña province, on the 3rd week of September. Its uniqueness stems from the fact that empty coffins are carried by the neighbours who have ever survived death.

 

However, this is not the only singular procession that takes place in Galicia. In Santa Marta de Ribarteme Pilgrimage the parishioners carry coffins aswell, but they are not empty here.
