The San Silvestre in Madrid is known as the San Silvestre Vallecana. The great race of the year unites sport and partying. It was in the 1964 when the first race of this kind was celebrated, that means it has been held for more than fifty years. Nowadays, around forty-thousand people run across Madrid on the 31st of December to bid farewell to the year.
