Several hundred riders dressed in white sheets parade through the streets carrying a virgin´s banner. It is ‘La Encamisá’, held in Torrejoncillo on 7 December, night before the Inmaculate Conception. Almost three hours of procession cheering for the patron saint. It is thought that its origin dates back to the Battle of Pavía, place where the soldiers became camouflaged in the snow by a white sheet. Between 200 and 300 riders take part annually in ‘La Encamisá’.
